Miracles

It is the absolute refusal to consider any possibility other than the outcome you have selected that prepares the Field of Possibilities for a miracle. It is the further refusal to judge anything by its appearance that makes the moment ready for magic. In miracle working, you must be prepared to ignore the evidence of your own eyes, you must close up your ears, and you must be out of your mind. If you are in your head, if you are in your mind, you will think your way right out of the miracle. When you perform miracles, ‘you do the unthinkable.’

Colortration makeup

Well, it looks like I may have found a good replacement form my Max Factor pan stik. I ordered a sampler from Colortration and their primer and have used it a few times now, and I have to say that it does a really good job of covering the beard shadow. Now, instead of clown pink, liquid foundation, pan stik, and powder, all I am needing is the primer and Colortration makeup. I still need the foundation and powder for the upper part of my face to get rid of the uneven skin tone, but it really is amazing how well this stuff covers and so far it lasts at least as long as my other products. I do notice a bit of a shine from my oily skin, but that is normal for me after 8 or so hours with makeup on. I ordered some of the right shade yesterday and am waiting for it to come in now.

First casualty

Well, tonight I noticed my first casualty from my wines. A small bottle of the apple with brown sugar blew the cork sometime over the last few days. I don't know if the cork just wasn't seated correctly or what, because this stuff didn't show signs of fermentation for months before I bottled the stuff. I guess it could be worse, the bottle could have blown up.

Strawberry riesling?

I may have invented a new wine recently. I blended some of my strawberry wine with some riesling. It actually came out quite good and I will definitely be doing it again. I'm seriously considering taking a few bottles of each, blending them and re-bottling them. Crackberry... The only way to fly.

Passing is such a wonderful feeling

I had a great experience today at the doctor's office. I dressed up a touch, grey snakeskin print skirt, grey top, grey pantyhose, heeled mary janes, and a short black sweater. While waiting to go in and get my shot, the 79 year old lady next to me commented on my purse, so we chatted about that for a few, then we started discussing the allergy shots. After I got my shot, we continued the conversation about the shots, and eventually moved on to the subject of my nails. She liked the nails, and during the conversation, the lady (i'd say mid 40's by the greying hair) a few seats down got in on the conversation. We chatted away for a good half hour and I know for a fact that the 79 y/o saw me as a woman and I'm pretty sure the other woman did too. :)

I love strawberries

Especially when they are turned into wine. Yum! The batch of strawberry wine that I made is absolutely fabulous. I will definitely be making more of this in another few months so we don't run out. :)

Today I started a batch of peach wine. If it turns out well, it'll be ready for Pennsic. :)

Say cheese

Today we finally broke down and bought a new point & shoot camera for each of us. The SLR is great, but there are many times when it isn't around and we wish we had a camera. The simple solution was to get a point & shoot for each of us to carry around. I also rearranged the camcorder & SLR bags and got it so we may actually use the camcorder once in a while. What a concept!

I may have found new makeup

I did some research and found ColorTration. Supposedly it covers fully
in one thin coat and lasts all day. I'll find out in a few days when I
get the order.

NOOOO!!!!

I just found out why I have not been able to get my Max Factor Pan Stik
at Walmart. I though the store redesign was the reason i could not find
it, but no... They discontinued the product! Now I need to find another
concealer that works as well and is in my shade and fast before I run
out. It took me years to find this product. This is not a good thing at
all. I am so not happy.

Another advantage to being androgynous

This weekend we were visiting some friends. Friday was a Heather day like normal and since our friends have no issue with Heather it worked out well. Last night we were talking and they mentioned their neighbor wanted to meet Heather. I hadn't planned a Heather weekend, but since I always wear "women's" clothes anyway it was no big deal for me to do a Heather day at all. I didn't even have to change what I had planned to wear. Since my wife and I share a makeup case, all of my makeup was already with me too. :)
